The first step came in the late 80’s when Kenny found that 27% of the barrels he bought from the best in the business would not shoot to his standard of sub one minute. These barrels were well built and built to the bench rest standard of the day. That was a bore diameter with a consistency of 3/10ths of a thousandth from the breech to the muzzle. Kenny decided that to get to 1/2 moa performance a barrel must have a deviation of no more than 1/10th of a thousandth. No one manufactured a barrel with that standard so Kenny decided to get to that point he would do it himself. Once this process was in place the reject rate of barrels went from 27% to 5% a year.

The next step occurred in early 2000 when the quality of available actions on which to build rifles continued to decline due to the pressure of mass production. The only solution was the Jarrett Tri-lock action. The two years of development and the significant investment in CNC machinery has allowed Jarrett to now control the barrel and action to comfortably offer a guarantee that every Jarrett Rifle will shoot a 1/2 moa or we won’t ship it to you.

The last component of the rifle manufacturing process came about in 2003 when Jarrett began the manufacturing of its own proprietary stock program. Once again to get the consistency Jarrett required the in-house stock program was a must.

So as we enter our 25th year, we find we are no longer custom rifle builders but have become custom rifle manufacturers. Is there a difference between the two? We think so. We control every aspect of the rifle to insure it will perform to our customer’s expectations. We do not count on anyone else’s components to get the job done. If you get the chance to own a Jarrett Rifle we think you will agree. We build the best hunting rifle in America. Whether it is the 1100 hand lapped strokes each barrel receives to get to the 1/10th of thousandth deviation or the 150 rounds we fire through each rifle on our own range to insure the accuracy and repeatability of the groups, no one in America manufactures a rifle like Jarrett.
